Buddy Rizer Honored with Data Center and Cloud Infrastructure Person of the Year Award

On Oct. 30, Buddy Rizer, Director of Loudoun Economic Development, was honored as the first Data Center and Cloud Infrastructure Person of the Year by NVTC’s Data Center and Cloud Infrastructure Committee. Rizer has been instrumental in the growth of the data center and cloud industry in Loudoun County as well as establishing our Data Center Alley as the premier destination for data centers in the United States.

During a reception event at Lansdowne, the audience, which was primarily data center and cloud professionals, warmly celebrated Rizer’s work. Committee Chair Jim Leach presented Rizer with the Award and read congratulatory letters from a number of his colleagues. In addition, Jonathan Sharp of Latisys, NVTC President and CEO Bobbie Kilberg, and Dulles Supervisor Matthew Letourneau lauded Rizer in their remarks. A portion of the event’s proceeds were donated to YearUp, an organization that seeks to close the opportunity divide by empowering urban young adults to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education.
