NVTC Members Participate in White House Insourcing American Jobs Event
On Wednesday, January 11, President Barack Obama hosted a forum at the White House to discuss the increasing trend of companies choosing to “insource” jobs and expand in the United States. The “Insourcing American Jobs” forum included remarks from President Obama about the importance of investing in America and he was joined onstage by leaders of several companies, including James Guyette, president & CEO of NVTC member company Rolls-Royce North America.
Following the president’s remarks, administration officials led two panel discussions in which leaders of several large and small companies discussed how they are creating jobs in America. The panelists highlighted the importance of the R&D tax credit, infrastructure investments and addressing the workforce skills gap for companies expanding operations in the U.S.
NVTC was represented at the forum by NVTC Board members Steve Cooker of Monster.com and Bob Dinkel of Pierce Capital Partners, as well as George Schindler of NVTC Board member company CGI.
