CEO and Director
Rich Montoni is the CEO of MAXIMUS and a member of the company's Board of Directors. Since assuming the role of CEO in 2006, Montoni has transformed MAXIMUS into one of the nation's leading health and human services providers. During this transformation, the company divested and exited several non-core business lines and directed its focus on the administration of government health and human services programs. Montoni directed the expansion of the company's global operations with significant growth in the company's markets outside the United States. Montoni implemented several key operational changes to optimize business operations, increase profitability, and drive shareholder value.
In recognition of these accomplishments, Montoni was named Executive of the Year at the 2012 Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards. In October 2013, he was recognized by Bloomberg as #3 of 20 "Tech's Top Turnaround Artists".
Montoni served as the company's CFO and treasurer from 2002 to 2006. Prior to joining MAXIMUS, Montoni was CFO, executive vice president and director for CIBER Inc., a NYSE-listed company in Colorado. Previously, he worked for KPMG LLP for nearly 20 years, serving in such capacities as audit partner.
Montoni is a member of the Board of Directors for NVTC and vice chairman of the Corporate Fund Board of the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. He holds a B.S. in economics from Boston University and an M.A. in accounting from Northeastern University. He is a member of the Dean's Executive Committee of the Northeastern University D'Amore - McKim School of Business.
