Digital Strategy Committee Meeting

Presented by the NVTC Digital Strategy Committee

January 21, 2015

8:30 - 9:00 a.m. Registration and Networking
9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Meeting

Digital Strategies for the Public Safety Community

Digital strategies include the plans, capabilities, technical resources and roles that enable organizations to interact most effectively with constituents by reaching out through social media, digital information - sharing, open data, mobile and other web-enabled services. These services are essential to engage public constituents - for both government and commercial purposes.

During this event, Fairfax County Fire Chief Richard R. Bowers Jr. will share insights and information from the local business and public safety (PS) communities regarding digital strategies. Bowers will address the following questions:

  • What kind of digital outreach and capabilities is the PS community using in Northern Virginia, or do they need to better serve their constituents?
  • What are current and forecasted requirements or initiatives - including the upcoming 2015 World Police and Fire Games in Fairfax this summer?
  • What are local and regional businesses doing in their own digital strategies, from social media to public relations and data sharing, that the PS community and agencies should know about or could take advantage of?
